Appearance: Tyr has the appearance of a young, teenage boy of about fourteen or fifteen. He has light brown eyes and unruly, somewhat outgrow, black hair. In terms of build, he has lean muscles, making him look pretty thin over all. He also dresses in a way that gives the impression that he doesn't care what he looks like and has been mistaken for a bum before.

Short history (canon): Born the son of General Teo McDohl, Tyr lived a privileged childhood with caring servants (Cleo, Gremio, and Pahn) and a skilled master teaching him combat (Kai). When he was fourteen years old, he begins aiding the Imperial Army as civil unrest troubles the country outside the capital of Gregminster. Because of the corruption he sees in his missions, he begins to doubt his loyalty to the Scarlet Moon Empire. After his best friend, Ted, is attacked and taken by the Court Magician, Windy, Tyr, Gremio, and Cleo become entangled with the rebel forces when Viktor helped them flee from the city.

As payment for Viktor's help in escaping Gregminster, Tyr agreed to meet Odessa, leader of the Liberation Army. During their few missions together, Tyr and Odessa became closer, and when Odessa passed away, she chose him as her successor and gave him instructions to recruit her brother, the former Imperial strategist Mathiu. Although initially reluctant, Mathiu agreed to help the Liberation Army, and with his help, the Liberation took their headquarters at a castle in the center of Lake Toran and recruited the help of other key members of the Liberation Army.

The Liberation Army's expanding power attracted the attention of both people seeking their help and people seeking to tear them down. When Kirkis sought their help to protect his homeland in the forest, Tyr blindly agreed to help them even though it meant attacking an Imperial Army stronghold and working with elves and dwarves that didn't want anything to do with humans. Although they were successful in defeating Kwanda
